The Joy of Seasonal Flowers
Share
What a crisp cool refreshing morning it was to start the day today! With the September days comes a recognition that Fall is almost here and Winter is soon to come! But, boy, are these wonderful times to be a flower gardener and a flower lover. The cool mornings are wonderful times for all us gardeners to work in the garden as the cool morning give us more time to harvest AND enjoy the beauty of all the dahlias now in full bloom! And there is no better time to be a flower lover as local, sustainable flowers are in full bloom!
For all you gardeners out there I am sure you can relate. I seem to remember a barren garden in early spring and all the work from then to now with little glimpses of joy, but, no real tangible results….only the coming anticipation of the visions in our head hopefully coming to life!
And today, we see the flower gardens in ALL their glory!
But, it’s not only the gardeners that get to enjoy the joy of seasonal flowers! It’s because we have moved to abundance! Abundance of dahlias! Abundance of flowers! You have so many choices now….its not….oh that one isn’t blooming yet or I only have a couple of those right now and we will have more in a couple of weeks. All the dahlias are available and it becomes easier to choose your favorites and warm your house with dahlias everyday.
Not only do we have abundance, but, we have variety! Dahlias come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and now is also a great time to create a list of the dahlias you would like to grow in your garden next year in preparation for the upcoming dahlia tuber sales this winter.
Clockwise from upper left: Belle of Bamera(10”), Apeeling, Labyrinth, KA’s™ Mocha Katie, Small World(1”), Bloomquist Ginnie, Lakeview Peachfuzz, KA’s™ Cinder Rose
With your favorite colors and shapes you can create an infinite number of dahlia bouquets! And I still haven’t created all the color combo’s!
My new favorites this year are either KA’s™ Cinder Rose
Or KA’s Pearl.
Do you have a favorite this year or are you still deciding? Isn’t that half the fun? It’s good to choose your favorites now as they can sometimes be hard to find during the winter dahlia tuber sales if you are interested in growing dahlias in your own garden.
What about the joy of giving? Do you know someone who has been having some tough times? I do. Here is what I was able to give them! Picking someone up during there down times is one of the ways we make deeper connections and those connections bring me so much joy!
Those are some of the joys of seasonal flowers! It is a wonderful time of the year and dahlias are such a wonderful flower and we know there is something out there for you to enjoy as well!
